Weatherseal Insulation has completed energy audits, insulation installs, and comprehensive energy efficiency upgrades on a number of college, university and academic facilities throughout the state of Virginia. From small buildings to structures as large (and challenging) as the UVA football stadium, there is no project too large or small for Weatherseal Insulation.
FEATURED PROJECTS:
UVA Football Stadium
The University of Virginia’s Scott Stadium is an impressive architectural structure. It’s also a large, complicated building. For us at Weatherseal Insulation, the stadium presented a unique challenge, for the scope of the project as well as the uniqueness of the building. Always up to a challenge, Weatherseal was honored to help the University of Virginia reduce the environmental impact and energy consumption of the stadium by implementing building science based energy efficiency solutions. The result is a healthier, more comfortable, more environmentally friendly structure with lower operating costs.
Washington & Lee University
Weatherseal Insulation was honored to complete a number of energy efficiency upgrades at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. Following a comprehensive energy upgrade, we were able to bring the centuries-old campus into the 21st century without compromising the aesthetic properties of the university’s classical architecture. Following the energy efficiency upgrade from Weatherseal, the university is now more environmentally friendly, comfortable, healthier, and costs less to operate through reduced energy costs.
Peabody School
The Peabody School is a school for academically advanced children in grades Pre-K – 8. Located in Charlottesville, Virginia, the Peabody School is one of the most prestigious schools in the region. Thanks in part to Weatherseal Insulation, the Peabody School is now a model for energy efficiency, environmental friendliness and indoor environmental quality. After conducting a comprehensive energy audit on the campus, we were able to implement energy efficiency upgrades that lead to an improved quality of life for the students, faculty and staff of the school, while simultaneously reducing energy costs.
Charlottesville Waldorf School
Charlottesville Waldorf School opened its doors as Crossroads Waldorf School in September 1982, welcoming a class of twelve kindergarten-age children to a farmhouse at “The Crossroads” in southern Albemarle County. On September 4, 2007 Charlottesville Waldorf School opened Phase I of its building project on Rio Road. The building has eight classrooms. The most recent addition to the campus which Weatherseal was a part of is an eco-friendly assembly hall, music room, library, and outdoor pavilion, which meet the U.S. Passive House Standards.
